Fraternal Organizations in Fort Collins

A pic will go here.

Masons: Founded in 1870 in Fort Collins. First met on the 3rd story in the old mill.

Masonic Lodge

“The third story of the old mill was used for a Masonic Lodge room in 1870 and 1871, making fairly good quarters. Here the lodge was instituted under a charter in September, 1870, and here many of the pioneers of the valley were made Master Masons.” (Ansel Watrous, History of Larimer County, Colorado. Page 226.)

The Masons moved into the Loomis Block, over the Poudre Valley Bank, when the building opened in 1882.

In the 1902 City Directory, the Masonic Lodge was at the corner of Linden and Walnet. In the 1903 City Directory, they’re listed at 137-149 W. Mountain. Eventually the address was just given as 149 W. Mountain.

The building on Oak was constructed in 1925.
