“ANOTHER FILLING STATION FOR THE AUTO CORNER
The corner at College, Pine, Walnut and Laporte is destined to be the automobile loop. Another institution of use to automobiles is to be erected in that vicinity. A. H. Albertson today took out a permit for the erection of a building to be used as a filling station. It is to be located on the west side of College avenue and the south side of Laporte avenue. The plans call for a 12 x 16 brick building, covered with stucco and of bungalow style. A roadway from both streets is planned and shelters are to be placed over both drives. Gasoline, oil and accessories will be handled.” (The Weekly Courier, July 28, 1916)
Altitude Oil Company
“The corner directly opposite the Northern hotel on College avenue is also in line for development this year. On the corner proper, the Altitude Oil company will construct an up-to-date filling station while next to this, Mr. P. J. Fleming, will build a cafe, modern in every respect.” (Fort Collins Courier, January 13, 1920)
